Comparing Barcelona to the cities we stopped in along our trip is very difficult. Although I believe I have come to the conclusion that I enjoy Barcelona much more than the cities we stopped in. Food is certainly a noticeable difference, as in Barca there is a large quantity of fresh seafood, as we moved away from the shore the change to more of a meet based diet was very noticeable. The most easily contrasted and comparable city to Barcelona has to be Madrid. With Madrid being the largest city in Spain and Barcelona coming in at #2, along with a passion to hate one another both of these cities are amazing. Though when being in Madrid it was easy to tell the difference between the central region of Spain and Catalunya. In Madrid there was much more of a government presence which I have yet to felt in Barcelona. The culture is also very different as well, as we saw in Sevilla and Madrid bull fighting is very much alive and a focal point in Spanish culture, but here in Barcelona bull fighting as been abolished and removed from the culture. Overall the regions of Spain all seem to very, especially here in Catalunya.
